Increase in Google Revenues Points to Increased Internet Advertising

This past weekend (Oct 17, 2008) Google reported stronger than expected earnings.  This was partly due to the lowering of expectations by analysts on Wall Street, but more so it was the result of an upward trend in the use of the Internet as an advertising medium.

The paradigm shift is not a surprise to me, as it simply exemplifies sound business practices.  Why would I spend thousands of dollars a month on blanket advertising via a local newspaper when I could use a fraction of that money and target a very specific demographic that is highly inclined to purchase my product on the web.

Just some food for thought.  I will be posting more about this later.
