The Porsche 944 - what’s the story?
Porsche has been developing remarkable vehicles for a long time and in 1982 the company presented what ended up becoming a yuppie’s dream car. Enter the 944.
This model was originally introduced as a replacement for the 924, but for a couple of years both model ranges were on sale simultaneously. As soon as it launched the 944 was a very ubiquitous car.
Can we tell for certain what made the 944 so well-received? Certainly there were various factors but principally it was the 944’s ability to cover ground very quickly and its svelte appearance. During the following few years various models became available, including the 944S, 944S2, and of course the 944 Turbo with its specially manufactured Porsche 944 performance parts.
